Florence police say Aaron Baggett, 17, created fake Twitter and Facebook accounts in the names of four people and sent obscene messages from those accounts.

Officers say he knew the people he pretended to be.

Baggett used the accounts to post obscene, vulgar and lewd messages, according to Major Carlos Raines.

It appeared the messages were coming from the four victims.

When the victims realized someone was posing as them on Facebook and Twitter and sending the obscene messages, they notified Florence police.

The IP address of the computer used in the false accounts traced back to Baggett, according to Raines.

Baggett was arrested Monday and charged with four counts of Communicating Obscene Messages to Another Person.

Baggett remains in jail at the Florence County Detention Center.
