A re-inforcing shot of Arctic air will move in behind a cold front that will pass by today. High pressure will sink South with cold airmass hanging on through the night.  Highs around 50 ° will be hit around noon then temps will be falling rapidly as cold, windy conditions move in for the afternoon. Overnight the winds will diminish and temps will fall to the low/mid 20s by daybreak

Across the Inland areas this cold air will lock in at the surface while the Grand Strand will see a slow warming into the 40s. This is due to an area of low pressure that will work into our area by late afternoon and evening tomorrow. This low will bring the chance for mainly rain showers for the Grand Strand. Inland areas will see an interesting set up. The cold air locked at the surface and the onset of moisture from the approaching low pressure system will bring an increased chance for sleet or freezing rain. While major issues are not expected with ice accumulations on trees and powerlines, bridges and overpasses may become slippery. This will mainly be during the afternoon and evening with the showers ending around midnight.

Tonight: Clear and cold with clouds moving in near daybreak. Lows: Low/mid 20s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy and colder. Grand strand scattered cold showers. Pee Dee & Border belt may see sleet/freezing rain possible turning to rain showers later. Slippery spots on bridges/overpasses possible. Highs-Grand Strand: Low 40s, Inland Low/Mid 30s.
