Sunday afternoon, thunderstorms with high winds and hail moved through the Pee Dee and Grand Strand bringing down trees and powerlines.

Highway Patrol is urging drivers to be careful on the roads. There are dozens of reports in Florence, Darlington, Marion, and Horry County of trees down with some blocking roadways.

Department of Transportation crews are working to clear them away.

Sunday evening thousands of Santee Cooper and Progress Energy customers were without power.
