A single car crash in the Pee Dee claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy Saturday. It happened around 12:30 p.m. on Pinckney Road in Williamsburg County, about three miles east of Kingstree.

Deputy Coroner William Horton said the victim is Deveyon McCrae of Kingstree. He died at the scene.

The driver of a 1995 Cadillac traveling south hit a ditch then overturned, according to LCpl. Sonny Collins.

The driver and a passenger were airlifted to two different hospitals and another passenger was taken to a local hospital, added Collins.

Sunday morning, a second victim involved in the crash died. Horton said Tyquan Allen, 17, of Kingstree passed away at the Medical University of South Carolina at 5:30 a.m.

Collins said at this time he doesn't think anyone was wearing seat belts.
