Christopher Harris was sentenced Wednesday by United States Attorney Bill Nettles in federal court in Charleston for Manufacturing and Possessing with Intent to Distribute 100 or more Marijuana Plants
Harris was sentenced to 240 months imprisonment to be followed by 8 years supervised release.
Evidence established that authorities had warrants charging Harris with Manufacturing Marijuana when he was arrested at his home in North Myrtle Beach.
The investigation revealed that Harris was also involved in a large-scale marijuana grow operation in Ridgeville.
Harris had multiple prior drug convictions, as well as a prior kidnaping conviction.
After Harris pled guilty in federal court, he removed his court-ordered electronic monitor and fled to Buriram, Thailand, on December 29, 2011.
Through the efforts of the United States Marshal Service, Harris was located and arrested by the Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau on June 1, 2012.
He was then extradited back to the United States and remained in custody until his sentencing.
