Jacob Speights, 41, is charged with Misconduct In Office.

A warrant says Speights is implicated in assaulting four inmates at the Florence County Detention Center while he was on duty as a sergeant at the jail from July 2012 to October 2012, according to the Florence County Magistrates Office.

The warrant says Speights choked one inmate, electric-shocked another and punched two handcuffed inmates in the head.

The warrant further reads detention center employees saw all four abuses.

Captain Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office has indicated to NewsChannel 15 he will release information on Speights' arrest later Friday.

Speights has been released from jail on a personal recognizance bond.
