Horry County police searching for shoplifting suspect

Horry County police need your help in finding a suspect wanted in connection with several shoplifting incidents.

Detectives say they began looking for the suspect after learning he was stealing various electronic items such as Beats headphones, Playstation 3 gaming systems, video games, fishing reels and several items of clothing from various Wal-Marts in Horry County.

Detectives estimate the approximate value of stolen merchandise to be $15,000 at this time.

Police are searching for Michael Steven Knarr, 41, of Columbia. There is a potential second suspect detectives are trying to identify as a possible driver.

Police believe Knarr may be living in Horry County and is about 5'10", 170lbs, with brown hair and green eyes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Knarr's location or the identity of the possible driver to call them at 915-5350. You may also call 915-TIPS if you wish to remain anonymous.
