Deputies patrolling the Pine Ridge community outside Hartsville Wednesday night stumbled upon a methamphetamine lab.

Lieutenant John McLeod with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office says deputies were investigating another incident when they got information about a meth lab in a work shop at a home on Congaree Street.

He says officers found materials used to manufacture meth.

Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) helped dismantle the lab.

They were on scene for more than five hours.

Kenneth Lee Campbell is charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine.

Campbell is being held at the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
