Testimony in the trial of Representative Kris Crawford began Monday afternoon at the Florence County courthouse.

Crawford is being tried on four counts of willfully failing to file his state state returns on time from 2004 to 2007.

Judge Thomas W. Cooper is presiding over the trial at the Florence County courthouse.

Crawford is a Republican and represents District 63, which is in Florence County.

Crawford has denied the charges and says he's a victim of poor work by his former accountant.

He was indicted on the misdemeanor charges and his trial ended in a mistrial last March.

Crawford's trial is expected to last through the week.
