ALL IS QUIET INTHE ATLANTIC

ED PIOTROWSKI - 15weather@wpde.com

After being soaked with 3" - 5" of rain from tropical moisture associated with the remnants of Ida, we've finally drying out and the tropics are nice and quiet.  Not a single reliable forecast model shows any development of tropical weather for the next week.

NOVEMBER HURRICANES

South Carolina has never had a hurricane make landfall along the coast in November and Ida certainly won't be the first.  It's even rare for the United States to be hit by a hurricane in November.  In more than 150 years of record keeping, only 4 hurricanes, all category ones, have hit the United States.  All four hit Florida with the last being Hurricane Kate in 1985.
