Trevor Manuel scored on a 12-yard touchdown run in overtime, to give the South All-Stars a 20-17 overtime victory over the North All-Stars, in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Saturday night.
Manuel, out of Huntingdon College, a Division III school in Montgomery, Alabama, answered for the South after a 45-yard field goal by Josh Thiel, put the North in front on the opening drive of the first and only overtime. Thiel attended St. Francis University in Pennsylvania.
Trailing 14-6 late in the third quarter, Kenny Little from Gardner-Webb scored on a 27-yard run for the South Stars. A two-point conversion tied the game and would force overtime.
Manuel was named FCS Senior Scout Bowl MVP after scoring the game-winning touchdown.
Coastal Carolina linebacker Andrae Jacobs had four tackles for the South. Another CCU star, wide receiver Akeem Wesley had one catch for 16 yards.
