The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team is back in the FCS playoffs for the third time in the ten year history of the program. Coastal will play at #22 Bethune-Cookman at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. The game can be seen on ESPN3.
Coastal finished the regular season with a 7-4 record after winning their final five games. CCU ended up tied for the Big South Conference Championship with Stony Brook and Liberty. Coastal received the automatic berth by winning a tie-breaker involving most road wins in the conference.
Coastal Carolina two previous playoff appearances to Appalachian State in 2006 and Western Illinois in 2010.
Bethune-Cookman (9-2) won the MEAC Championship. The Wildcats won all eight of their conference games. This will be the fourth playoff appearance for Bethune-Cookman.
Stony Brook also made it into the field, giving the Big South two teams in the field for the first time ever. The Seawolves will be at Villanova for a 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, November 24. Stony Brook was CCU's only conference loss this season.
Wofford also made it into the FCS Playoffs. The Terriers received a first round bye. They will be at New Hampshire at 2 p.m. on December 1.
North Dakota State is the number one seed in the 2012 FCS Playoffs.
