Hartsville's Lyles tosses five shutout innings vs Cubs

Hartsville native Jordan Lyles threw five shutout innings and struck out five to pace the Houston Astros to a 1-0 win over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday at Minute Maid Park. Lyles picked up his fourth win of the season and lowered his ERA to 5.33 on the season. Lyles gave up two hits and got out of a bases loaded jam. He left the game for a pinch hitter in the 5th inning after getting to the 94 pitch mark.
Former Coastal Carolina outfielder Dave Sappelt entered the game as a pinch hitter for the Cubs and was 1-2.
