The NCAA Super Regional baseball series between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Oklahoma Sooners was suspended because of rain. The scoreless game from Sunday night will resume on Monday at 4:05 p.m. with Oklahoma batting in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Conway High product Colby Holmes threw five shutout innings. He allowed just one hit and struck out three. Oklahoma starter Jonathan Gray struck out nine over six innings of work.
Tanner English out of St. James High had one of the four hits in the game. He was stranded on base in what was a pitcher's duel before rain halted play.
NewsChannel 15 First Alert Weather calls for an 80 percent chance of rain in Columbia on Monday. If Oklahoma wins the suspended game on Monday to tie the series, a deciding game three would be played at 7:05 p.m. All games will be televised on ESPN2. Winner of this Super Regional will play the Florida Gators in the opening round of the College World Series.
