Carolina Forest beats Conway in regular season finale

The Carolina Forest Panthers baseball team will head into the off season on a happy note. Carolina Forest defeated the Tigers 4-1 on Senior Night. Carolina Forest did not qualify for the 4A playoffs. Conway will be a 2-seed next week against an opponent to be named. Sumter won region 6-4A.
Carolina Forest got out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning after Gary Mattocks drove home Chris Orlando. The Panthers rode the pitching of 6'3" senior left-hander Robert Gray to victory. Gray went the distance, throwing seven innings with six strikeouts. Gray has signed a college letter of intent to play at Liberty. The Panthers finished the season with a 13-8 record. Conway heads into the playoffs with a 16-6 slate.
