Five schools have contacted Coastal Carolina forward Sam McLaurin highlighted by two major conference programs. McLaurin tells WPDE Sports he's heard from Virginia, Illinois, Drake, Western Kentucky and UAB. Alabama-Birmingham has former Coastal Carolina assistant Richie Riley on the staff. The three year starter for the Chanticleers received his release on Monday. He will not be allowed to transfer to another Big South school or a school on CCU's 2012-13 schedule. McLaurin has one year of eligibility remaining and will not have to sit out as he pursues a law degree following his graduation from Coastal in May. McLaurin does not have any visits scheduled, and is expected to hear from more schools.
