Coastal Carolina draws Tennessee Tech in ESPN BracketBusters

  Coastal Carolina will face Tennessee Tech in ESPN's BracketBusters on Saturday February 18th at Kimbel Arena.  CCU is part of a 142 team pool in 16 conferences.  Every Big South school is part of this year's BracketBusters.  The Chanticleers will play at Tennessee Tech in 2013/14 as part of the agreement.  The game will not be televised. 

  Tennessee Tech is currently 13-9, 5-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.  They lost by 8 points to conference leader, Murray State who is ranked in the top 10 and is a perfect 21-0.  Tennessee Tech Schedule and Results

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will host Tennessee Tech in the Sears BracketBusters game on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Kimbel Arena. The game time will be announced at a later date.

The game is Coastal's (16-5, 9-2 Big South) second overall meeting in the event and third meeting against the Golden Eagles (13-9, 5-4 OVC) of the Ohio Valley Conference. The all-time series is tied at 1-1 after the Chants fell 70-64 on Feb. 8, 1988 in Cookeville, Tenn. Coastal won the first meeting earlier that season on Dec. 9 in Conway 91-80.

"Tennessee Tech is a good basketball team," said head coach Cliff Ellis. "I have a lot of respect for the Ohio Valley Conference and the Tennessee Tech program."

Coastal only other appearance in the BracketBusters event was on Feb. 17, 2007 as they defeated Canisius 83-66 in Conway.

The BracketBusters game is included in the Coastal Carolina season ticket package.
