2011 Zoneman Finalists Announced

  The ballots are in for the 2011 WPDE Zoneman Trophy.  34 area head coaches plus six media members cast their votes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd with three points for a first place vote, two for a second, and one for a third place vote.  On Friday night's Chevy End Zone, the four finalists were revealed.  From the 40 ballots, 6 players got the majority of the votes, with the top 4 reaching 20 or more points to qualify as a Zoneman Finalist.  East Clarendon quarterback Carlos Hickson was in the #5 slot, the highest ever finish for a Wolverine, with Hemingway RB LaMichael Pushia finishing in sixth.

Jabo Lee, Dillon RB: junior, offers from Clemson, Virginia Tech and Tennessee.  A 2010 Zoneman Finalist.  Will play for a spot in the  2A Division I state championship next week against Timberland. 

Mykal Moody, Conway QB: junior.  The seventh Conway Tiger to make it to the Zoneman podium.

1519 yards passing, 17 TD's and 9 INT's to go along with 1490 rushing yards and 30 rushing scores. 

Kwinton Smith, Dillon WR: committed to South Carolina.  Will play for a spot in the 2A Division I state championship next week against Timberland. 

Jabril Solomon, Hemingway WR: commited to East Carolina.  The first Hemingway Tiger ever to reach the Zoneman podium.  Will play for the 1A Division I state championship next week against Abbeville.
