College Football: Arkansas 44 South Carolina 28

The 8th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (8-1) broke open a close game with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to score a 44-28 win over the 10th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas, before a crowd of 73,804 at Razorback Stadium.

Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson threw for 299 yards and two TD's, both of the scoring passes were caught by Jarius Wright. Wilson completed 20 of 37 passes with only one interception.

Connor Shaw ran for two second half touchdowns for the Gamecocks. Shaw's fourth quarter TD pulled South Carolina within two points of the lead.

Arkansas scored the final two TD's of the contest. Ronnie Wingo scored to give the Razorbacks a 37-28 lead. Following another South Carolina turnover, Arkansas scored again on a Broderick Green TD run to cap the scoring. The Gamecocks had four turnovers to only one for the Hogs.

Darlington High product Victor Hampton made two tackles for the Gamecocks. He also led South Carolina in all-purpose yards with 168 on kickoff returns.

The Gamecocks (7-2) will play the Florida Gators on Saturday, November 12 in the first of three consecutive home games to finish their regular season schedule. The Gamecocks now have a record of 5-2 in the SEC. They trail the Georgia Bulldogs (5-1), by one-half game in the SEC East standings.
