The Virginia Tech defense has lost Myrtle Beach's Bruce Taylor for the rest of the season after suffering a foot injury in Saturday's win against Boston College.  Taylor has led the Hokies in tackles over the past two seasons.  The redshirt junior will undergo surgery on Friday and is expected back in time for his senior season.  Taylor had 53 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss and six sacks to lead the Hokies defense in 2011.  He was the leading tackler in 2010 with 91 stops.  Taylor won WPDE's Zoneman Trophy in 2007.

“It is a tough loss,” coach Frank Beamer said Monday. “He’s played a lot of plays and made a lot of plays. He’s a very smart guy and gets us into the right things.” Taylor will be replaced in the lineup by Barquell Rivers and Jack Tyler.
