Tigers QB Tajh Boyd inured

The 8th ranked Clemson Tigers paid a high price in a 36-14 win over the Boston College Eagles on Saturday. Sophomore starting quarterback Tajh Boyd suffered a hip injury in the third quarter and did not return. X-rays were negative according to Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney. Boyd completed16 of 26 passes for 282 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 36 yards and another score before his departure.

Cole Stoudt took over at quarterback for Clemson and completed 6 of 10 for 37 yards. Tigers running back Andre Ellington ran 22 times for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Cheaw native Jaron Brown caught two passes for 32 yards and a touchdown. Loris product Jonathan "Tig" Willard led the Clemson defense with nine tackles. Former West Florence defensive end Malliciah Goodman had six tackles and a sack that forced a fumble that the Tigers recovered to set up a score. Marlboro County's Lateek Townsend had five tackles and Lake View's Quandon Christian made three stops.

Clemson improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the ACC. Next up for the Tigers, a trip to College Park, Maryland to play the Terrapins on Saturday, October 15. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
