On the eve of its 2011 opener, the Coastal Carolina football program got a big boost to its receiving corps when it was announced that DeMario Bennett has been ruled eligible for the upcoming season.  Bennett is expected to be in uniform and see some playing time when the Chants open the season on Saturday night at 6pm against Furman.

  Bennett came to the Chanticleers as a transfer from the University of South Carolina.  The sophomore was ruled academically ineligible following the spring semester, but filed a waiver through the Big South Conference.  That waiver was granted late on Thursday giving the Chants some added depth to its receivers.
