Back to back College World Series championships. Back to back parades. The South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team celebrated by holding a parade in downtown Columbia on Friday. More than 40,000 fans showed up last year. The city estimates that more than double that number watched the parade to honor the 2011 College World Series champions.

The Gamecocks ran the table winning all ten of their games at the 2011 NCAA Tournament. They capped it off  by sweeping two games from the Florida Gators in the title round to capture the CWS and set records for winning 11 straight World Series games and 16 consecutive NCAA Tournament games. South Carolina finished the season with a 55-14 record.
