Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey shot a second straight round of 4-under par 67 at Harbour Town Golf Links to move him into a tie for 5th at The Heritage. The Bishopville product holed out from a greenside bunker on 18 to move him to 8-under par for the tournament, three shots behind the leader Luke Donald. Gainey has won seven tournaments as a professional, but none on the PGA Tour.

Gainey is one of three South Carolinians who made the weekend cut at Hilton Head Island, which is the only PGA stop in the Palmetto State. Former Clemson All-American D.J. Trahan and Bill Haas from Greer are both 4-under through three rounds. A South Carolina native or resident has never won this event.

At 11-under, Donald has a one stroke lead over Jim Furyk heading to the final 18 holes on Sunday. If Donald wins, he would take over the number one ranking in golf.
