Sam Muldrow became the first Gamecock to win SEC Defensive Player of the Year. The Florence native and Wilson High product led the SEC with 96 blocks and was ninth in the league with 7 plus rebounds a night. Among the highlights of Muldrow's senior season was the second triple double in Gamecock history when he blocked 10 shots, scored 14 points and hauled down 16 rebounds in an overtime win against Vanderbilt in January.
Muldrow is a two time WPDE Mr. Hoop Zone Finalist in 2006 and 2007. The Gamecocks take on Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
