COASTAL CAROLINA 5 PRESBYTERIAN 2 (Game 2)
14th ranked Coastal Carolina hit six homers, including two by Tommy La Stella, on the way to a 25-2 win over Presbyterian in game one of a doubleheader at Watson Stadium in Conway. Anthony Meo struck out seven over five inning to improve his record to 5-1. In game two, La Stella homered again driving in two runs. Coastal Carolina won game two 5-2. Jim Birmingham tossed seven innings, allowing just four hits and a run to raise his record to 3-1. Coastal Carolina now has a record of 23-5, 5-0 in the Big South Conference. CCU will host UNC-Wilmington Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
MISSISSIPPI STATE 8 SOUTH CAROLINA 7
Ryan Collins had three hits and drove in three runs to lead Mississippi State past South Carolina 8-7 on Saturday. The Gamecocks record falls to 21-6 overall and 6-2 in the SEC. Game three of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday at Carolina Stadium.
BOSTON COLLEGE 11 CLEMSON 5
Boston College used a seven-run second inning to beat Clemson 11-5 in front of 5,587 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday. The Eagles evened the series at a game apiece with game three scheduled for Sunday at noon. The Tigers drop to a record of 19-8 overall and 8-3 in the ACC.
