Jobs are up for grabs this spring during Coastal Carolina football training camp. Decisions about who will start and who will play back-up roles are being made every day by the CCU coaching staff. NewsChannel 15's Mark Haggard takes a look at a sophomore running back who's one of the players battling for more playing time this fall.
Back for his second year at Coastal Carolina, Jeremy Height is having a solid spring. With the top returning rusher Eric O'neal missing all of spring workouts with an injury, Height is siezing the moment and getting more touches. Last year, Height played in eight games. The product of McIntosh County in Georgia had 59 carries for 225 yards, third best on the team in 2009. He has excellent upfield burst using his 4.5 speed. Although he has yet to score a collegiate touchdown, he's a breakaway threat on a team that really had no feature back last season. But in order to take over that role, head coach David Bennett says Height still has more to prove.
With the spring game coming up on april 10th, Height is just one of many Chanticleers battling to move up the depth chart.
