Kentucky 3 Coastal Carolina 2
12th ranked Coastal Carolina lost for the first time this season. A 9th inning throwing error by Scott Woodward was the difference as the Kentucky Wildcats beat Coastal Carolina 3-2. The Chants record is now 2-1 on the season. The Wildcats finished the weekend tournament in Conway perfect after three games. Next: Coastal Carolina will be at Wake Forest on Tuesday at 4pm.
South Carolina 5 Duquesne 3
Adam Matthews drove in two runs including a homer to lead the #10 South Carolina Gamecocks past Duquesne 5-3 with 6,910 in attendance at Carolina Stadium in Columbia. The Gamecocks swept the season-opening weekend series over the Dukes. South Carolina travels to East Carolina for a three game weekend series starting on Friday at 3pm.
Clemson 8 Furman 5
The 15th ranked Tigers are 3-0 after the first weekend of the college baseball season. Clemson never trailed on the way to an 8-5 victory over Furman before a crowd of 5,539 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson. Jeff Shaus and Jason Stolz each drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers. Next: Clemson hosts Wright State starting Friday at 4pm.
