It's deja vu for Dillon. The Wildcats are back in the 2A state championship game and the same opponent is on the other sideline. Central of Pageland was the favorite last year, but this missed extra point gave Dillon a 7-6 win and the state championship. This year, a rematch - Central is back in the title game and once again Dillon is standing in the way.
Antuawn Blue was the game changer in Clemson during last year's title game. The Shrine Bowler caught this 94 yard TD pass for Dillon's only touchdown and then made the game sealing interception. The veteran is playing alongside a number of newcomers getting their first taste on the state title stage.
Jackie Hayes provided one of the lasting local sports images of 2008 when Dillon won it all crying tears of joy, but the coach promises no tears this year, but he still wants another title just as bad as the first time.
Dillon and Central kick off at 3pm Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. WPDE Sports and carolinalive.com will have full coverage from the Dillon and Myrtle Beach state title games.
