Coastal Carolina beats Charleston Southern 73-53

(AP) -- CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - Warren Gillis scored 19 points to go with six rebounds as Coastal Carolina rolled to a 73-53 victory over Charleston Southern on Wednesday in a Big South Conference matchup.

Anthony Raffa added 17 points and Kierre Greenwood 16. Michel Enanga posted 12 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes and El Hadji Ndieguene pulled down 12 rebounds to help CCU (11-10, 6-4) dominate the glass 47-27.

Gillis hit a 3-pointer midway through the first half that broke a 13-13 tie and sparked an 11-0 run for the Chanticleers. Charleston Southern (12-8, 7-2) cut the deficit to 29-23 but  the Chantcileers answered with eight straight points to take a 37-23 advantage into halftime.

Charleston Southern, which entered the game leading the Big South in 3-point percentage, made just 6 of 32 3-point attempts. Saah Nimley, who had been averaging 25 points over the past three games, scored seven points.
