The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will try to pull off a football first for the program, and avoid another on Saturday, when they host the 11th ranked Stony Brook Seawolves.

CCU (2-3) has never beaten Stony Brook (5-1) in four previous meetings. The Seawolves rolled up 446 rushing yards and beat Coastal 42-0 last season in New York.

The school record the Chants want to elude is a fourth straight regular season loss. After starting the season 2-0, CCU has dropped games to Eastern Kentucky, Toledo and Appalachian State. Coastal has a 4-8 all-time record against ranked FCS opponents.

Stony Brook has reeled off seven straight Big South Conference wins dating back to last season. The Seawolves are led by the most prolific running back in Big South history. Miguel Maysonet has 3,649 career rushing yards. This season, Maysonet has 114 carries for 888 yards and nine TD's.

The Seawolves also have a strong passing attack. Senior quarterback Kyle Essington tied the Big South Conference single game record with five touchdown passes in a 49-7 win over Charleston Southern last weekend.

Coastal Carolina is coming off a bye week. After losing to three straight powerhouse programs, Chanticleers head coach Joe Moglia was asked if Stony Brook is the toughest game on CCU's schedule. He said, "Give us a chance to play Stony Brook and let's find out."

Stony Brook at Coastal Carolina will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, October 13 at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.
