(AP) -- The South Carolina Gamecocks (6-0) have moved up to number three in the nation in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Polls.
The Gamecocks defeated the previously fifth ranked Georgia Bulldogs 35-7 on Saturday, while Florida State and LSU also lost, allowing South Carolina to inch up three places from last week in the AP. The number three ranking is the Gamecocks highest since 1984 when they were ranked number two with a 9-0 record.
The Clemson Tigers (5-1) are 16th in the AP, and 13th in the Coaches Poll after beating Georgia Tech 47-31. Despite the win, Clemson fell out of a tie for 15th in the AP, but moved up two spots in the Coaches Poll.
