South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Connor Shaw completed 20 consecutive passes, two of them for scores, on the way to a 31-10 victory over the Missouri Tigers at Williams-Brice Stadium, before a crowd of 80,836 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Shaw's first pass of the game was incomplete. He then picked the Tigers defense apart, finishing the game by completing 20 of 21 passes for 249 yards. He also ran the ball 12 times for 41 yards.
Ace Sanders caught a 23-yard TD pass and Rory Anderson had a 13-yard TD reception for South Carolina.
Junior tailback Marcus Lattimore scored the first two touchdowns for the Gamecocks. He moved ahead of George Rogers and Harold Green for first on South Carolina's all-time list for rushing touchdowns. Lattimore now has 33 trips to the end zone. He ran for 85 yards on 21 carries.
The Gamecocks defense held Missouri to just three points until 17 seconds left in the contest. South Carolina held the Tigers to a season-low 254 yards.
Darlington High product Victor Hampton made two tackles for the Gameococks.
South Carolina improved their record to 4-0, and 2-0 in the SEC. The Gamecocks have won eight straight games dating back to last season. They have also won 23 of their last 26 at Williams-Brice Stadium.
The Gamecocks return to action next Saturday, September 29 in Lexington, Kentucky against the Wildcats. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
