The start of high school football is almost here. 36 teams from the Pee Dee and Grand Strand came to Wild Water and Wheels in Surfside Beach for Chevy End Zone Media Day. Over 200 players filled out information forms, took headshots and did television interviews to talk about the 2012 high school football season.
After doing the media work, the players had hamburgers and hot dogs followed by a fun day at the water park. WPDE's Chevy End Zone Previews begin on Monday, July 30th. CarolinaLive.com will post the entire Preview schedule on July 23rd.
Here's some news and notes from around the End Zone nation leading up to the start of high school football practices on Friday, July 27th

THE NEXT GREAT WILDCAT
Dillon's three Division I commitments have gotten a lot of the spotlight in Wildcat Country and rightly so. RB Jabo Lee (East Carolina) and offensive linemen DJ Park and Bryce King (South Carolina) are all firm on their commitments. The next player to keep an eye on is rising junior Joe Blue. At 5'11", 235 pounds, Blue runs the Wildcat formation inside the red zone for Jackie Hayes, but he's a college prospect for his linebacking skills. He already has offers from Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.
RETURNING ALL-ZONERS
Reigning Zoneman winner Jabo Lee is back looking for another trophy along with runner-up Mykal Moody. In all 13 2011 WPDE All-Zoners are back looking for a return to the annual Chevy End Zone Banquet
