NewsChannel 15 Sports first learned that point guard Raymond Felton was talking with the Knicks on a deal that would bring the Latta native back to the Big Apple. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News has confirmed that Felton will be part of a four player sign-and-trade that will send him to the Knicks.

Felton, along with Kurt Thomas are being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Knicks. In exchange, the Blazers will receive Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric.

The deal means that the Knicks will probably not match the $25 million offer sheet that Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rockets earlier this week. The Knicks have until Tuesday to match the offer or let Lin go to the Rockets.

In the 2010-11 season, Felton averaged 17.1 points and nine assists for the Knicks before he was traded to the Denver Nuggets in a deal that brought Carmelo Anthony to New York.

Here is Mark Haggard's tweet that started the Felton/Lin buzz on Saturday night
