Kwinton Smith became the second Dillon Wildcats drafted in the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft when he was a 14th round selection of the Texas Rangers.  Smith played centerfield for Gregg Dozier as well as chipped in on the mound.  He hit .438 with 4 homers and 13 RBI's to go along with a 3-0 record on the mound with a 1.27 ERA and 35 strikeouts.

Smith is signed to play football for Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks.  He had 34 catches for 564 yards and 10 TD's in his senior season for the Wildcats making the Shrine Bowl and the O-D All-American game.  Smith tells WPDE Sports that he is talking with his family about whether he'll go the college route or join the Texas Rangers organization.
