Conway quarterback Mykal Moody suffered a broken collarbone at Nike Combine Camp in Charlotte and will be out of action for six weeks. Moody will miss the final week of Conway High spring football practice, but is expected to be ready in time for pre-season practice which begins in early August.
Moody missed most of his sophomore campaign with an ankle injury, but bounced back to have a huge junior season. Moody threw for 1519 yards and 17 TD passes to go along with 1490 yards on the ground and 30 trips to the end zone. Moody has picked up three major Division I offers: Ole Miss, Kentucky and Mississippi State and has interest from Clemson, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Moody finished 2nd in the 2011 WPDE Zoneman balloting behind Dillon RB and East Carolina commit Jabo Lee.
