The Francis Marion baseball team made headlines across the state when it shocked Division I defending national champ South Carolina in Florence earlier this month.  Instead of suffering a letdown, the Patriots went on a six game win streak and wrapped up regular season play with a 33-14 record, 19-10 in Peach Belt play.

The Patriots will begin play in the Peach Belt Conference tournament on May 9th in Columbus, Georgia.  Art Inabinet's team is littered with local products including Lamar's Tyler Boyd, Aynor's Will Chandler and Florence's Austin Smetana and Michael Wilson.  Following the Peach Belt tourney, the NCAA Division II Baseball tournament begins.
