Carl Pettersson shot a final round 2-under par 69 to win the RBC Heritage by five strokes over Zach Johnson on Sunday at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The 34-year old Petterson finished the tournament at 14-under par. According to the PGA Tour website, Pettersson led the field in greens in regulation on a course with the smallest greens of any stop on the PGA Tour. He was also first in putts per green in regulation.
His fifth PGA Tour win earned Pettersson a check for $1,026,000. He is now tied with Jesper Parnevik for most career wins on tour by a Swedish player.
Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey who was born in Darlington, South Carolina, raised in Bishopville and now lives in Camden, shot a 9-over par 80 to finish the tournament 4-over. Gainey ended up tied for 52nd place and won $13,366.50 in prize money.
