The 10th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks defeated The Citadel Bulldogs 8-0 on Tuesday night, before a crowd of 7,129 at Carolina Stadium in Columbia. Grayson Greiner hit a grand slam to highlight a six-run seventh inning for South Carolina. Nolan Belcher struck out seven over 5.2 innings to pick up his second win of the season. Hartsville's Hunter Privette closed out the game pitching 1.1 innings. Privette completed the combined shutout with two strikeouts. Tanner English, a product of St. James High, was 3-for-3 at the plate. English scored the first run of the game on an RBI ground out off the bat of Adam Matthews. The Gamecocks record is now 24-9.
The Clemson Tigers beat the Furman Paladins 12-5 at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina. Jon McGibbon had a huge night at the plate. McGibbon scored three runs, had three hits and drove in five runs for the Tigers. Clemson's record is now 20-13.
The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks beat the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 5-4 in ten innings before a crowd of 1,187 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, North Carolina on Tuesday night. Jake Koenig drove in the game-winner for UNCW. Coastal Carolina's record is now 20-11. CCU ends its nine-game road swing with a home contest with The Citadel on Wednesday. First pitch at Watson Stadium is set for 6 p.m.
