Mullins wins Pepsi Caroina Classic in overtime
The Mullins Auctioneers won the Pepsi Carolina Classic on Friday night with a 52-46 overtime victory over the Wilson Tigers at West Florence High School. Chris Harley of Mullins was named tournament MVP.
Socastee loses Beach Ball finale
Miami Senior (FL) led wire-to-wire in a 55-39 win over Socastee at the Beach Ball Classic boys basketball tournament at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Friday.
Travis Frye led Socastee with 13 points and six rebounds. The Braves finished the tournament with one win and two losses.
Adriel Jimenez hit six 3-pointers on the way to a 19 point effort to lead Miami. The Stingarees forced 22 Socastee turnovers and held the Braves to just 28 percent shooting from the field.
