The Socastee Braves will host a class 3A state playoff football game for only the second time in school history this Friday night. Socastee takes on the Berkeley Stags at 7:30 p.m. on November 4.

Socastee senior starting quarterback Jordan Renfrow is questionable for the opening round playoff game. He's suffering from turf toe. He missed last week's 56-34 victory over arch-rival St. James. His brother, sophomore Hunter Renfrow engineered the Braves to victory last week and took all the snaps in practice on Monday. He said, "We can't turn it over, that's the big thing we have to do is execute and just come out and play."

Socastee running back Michquan Brown is fresh off a 178 yard, three touchdown performance that earned him an HTC game ball last week. Daquon Brown is closing in on the 1,000 yard rushing milestone with the Braves averaging nearly 30 points a contest.

Socastee started the season 1-4, but they rebounded to win three times in their region, including wins over Wilson and St. James to earn a playoff berth.

Berkeley also enters the post season with a 4-6 record. The Stags, out of Moncks Corner, are on a two game losing streak. They began the season playing a strong schedule. The lost to Stratford, Summerville and Timberland. They have two signature wins over both Manning and playoff-bound Hilton Head. Berkeley has won five state championships. The last one came in 2009.

WPDE NewsChannel 15 will have all the highlights of this game on the Chevy End Zone at 11:15 p.m. Friday night, November 4.
