Congratulations to the King's Academy in Florence for winning a national championship in Sporting Clays. TKA competed in the Scholastic Clay Target Program at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, Illinois.
The King's Academy in Florence won first place in the senior varsity division. The TKA varsity team Braxton Ivey, Richmond Willhoit and Austin Mogy shot 557 out of 600.
In the rookie division, Backwoods Quail club out of Georgetown won a national title as well. Evan Jackson, Carter Parrott and Chandler Sims competed and took the top honors. The fourth and fifth graders all live in Florence and took home the top spot.
Julian Wilhelm of Myrtle Beach and Florence's Tyler Parker and Alex Dewitt from Backwoods Quail Club finished in third place nationally in the Intermediate first year division.
