The NFL Draft is next Thursday and Cheraw native and Gamecocks defensive end Cliff Matthews is primed to become the 10th former WPDE All-Zoner to become an NFL Draft pick.  Matthews agent, Joel Turner, tells WPDE Sports that his client had a two day visit in New York with the Giants.  In addition, Matthews has had contact with over half of the teams in the NFL and has most recently had phone contact with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars.  Turner says he expects Matthews to be drafted sometime in the 4th or 5th round.

The NFL Draft begins on Thursday night April 28th with the first round.  Rounds two and three will take place on Friday with the final four rounds set for Saturday.
