Jerai Grant scored a career-high 22 points to lead Clemson to a 70-52 win over Alabama-Birmingham on Tuesday night in an NCAA First Four game in Dayton, Ohio. It is Clemson's first win at the NCAA's in 14 years. With the victory in the play-in contest, Clemson moves into the NCAA Tournament field of 64.
The Tigers (22-11) dominated the first half going on a 21-2 run and never looked back. Four Clemson played scored in double figures. Along with Grant, Milton Jennings tallied 11 points, Tanner Smith and Devin Booker had 10 apiece.
Clemson rushed out of the post game news conference to fly to Tampa, Florida for a quick turnaround for their opening round game. The Tigers will play 5th seeded West Virginia on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.
