Quarterback Everett Golson and offensive lineman Jason Rexroad had a departure ceremony Friday morning at Myrtle Beach High. Both players graduated early and will begin taking college classes later this month.

Golson is a 2-time WPDE Zoneman winner and was selected to the Shrine Bowl. He will sign with Notre Dame next month. He says he wants to take over as starting quarterback during his freshman season with the Fighting Irish. The Seahawks all-time passing leader told NewsChannel 15 that he will start his classroom studies six months early in order to get acclimated with campus life in South Bend, Indiana, "Nothing is better than Notre Dame. Because of all the history and all the legends who have come through there. Being a part of that really means a lot to me. It's really special." Golson says he will major in business and minor in music. He says his dream job is to someday become a music producer.

The 6'4"  280 pound Rexroad will sign with Middle Tennessee State. He is another WPDE All-Zone selection. Rexroad bench presses 410 pounds and will begin his college career at right tackle. He will major in exercise science. His goal is to become a strength coach on the collegiate level. Rexroad says he will always remember being a Myrtle Beach Seahawk and winning the class 3A championship in his senior season, "I'll miss running out of the helmet on Friday nights, listening to the crowd. It was a great feeling. I'm hoping that I'll have that same feeling in a few months at Middle Tennessee."
