Coastal Carolina running back Racheed Gause is not eligible to play in Saturday's opener against West Virginia.   WPDE Sports has learned that Gause's passing summer school grade in a communications class was overturned.  Gause flew with the team to Morgantown, but had to immediately leave the team when the decision was made.

WPDE's Camp Bennett series followed the plight of senior running back Racheed Gause, who needed two C's to become eligible for his senior season.  At the end of Camp Bennett's four episode series, Gause was still in limbo waiting to hear on his summer school grades.  On Thursday afternoon at 4pm, just two days before the start of the season, Gause found out that he will be able to suit up for CCU this fall, but on Friday that decision was changed.

Gause missed the entire 2009 season due to academic problems.  The Conway native was expected to be a key contributor to CCU's running attack especially in short yardage situations.  Gause has run for 394 yards and 2 TD's in his career at Coastal Carolina.
