MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - The North defense stopped a desperate South drive at the 16 yard line as the clock ran out to win 21-17 over the lower staters in the North-South all-star game Saturday. The North has won five in a row and seven of the last eight in the game for South Carolina high school seniors. The South led 17-9 early in the third quarter on a 57-yard touchdown pass from Elliott Alford of Marlboro County to Corey Washington of North Charleston. But Belton-Honea Path's Nino Woolridge ran four yards for a score that left the North trailing 17-15 after the two-point conversion failed. The North's winning touchdown came on a 10-yard pass from Chris Dodd of Byrnes to Drake Thomason of Eastisde with 14 seconds left in the third quarter. Okoye Houston of Woodmont ran a kickoff back 99 yards for a TD for the North, while Edisto's Malik Brown recovered a fumble in the end zone for the South.
