Four Socastee High students arrested in purse snatching

Four Socastee High School students have been arrested for a purse snatching at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach.

Morgan Chase Stevens, 16, and Hunter James Richardson, 16, are both being charged as adults.

Tanner Charles Scholl, 17, and Bryson Andrew Messer, 17, were also arrested.

The incident happened on January 12.

The victim said she was walking to her vehicle when a person came up behind her and tried to pull her purse from her shoulder, according to Myrtle Beach police.

The person pulled her to the ground and injured her.

The suspect took her purse and left with other people in an SUV.

After investigating, police found a vehicle fitting the description of the suspect vehicle.

The four teenagers were arrested for Strong Arm Robbery.

Scholl was released on a $25,000 surety bond.

Stevens, Richardson, and Messer were released on a $35,000 personal recognizance bond.
