West Florence fire crews spent Monday morning investigating a truck fire in Florence County.

The fire started around 4:00 a.m. on Interstate 95 northbound at mile marker 160.

An 18-wheeler tanker truck carrying 6,500 gallons of used oil was on fire, according to Captain Fox with the West Florence Fire Department.

A tire blew out while the driver was on the road. When he pulled over, the tire was already on fire.

The fire spread to the rear of the trailer.

The fire was quickly contained and there were no injuries.

No oil leaked from the tanker.

I-95 was closed briefly, however, all lanes are now open.

South Carolina Highway Patrol, Florence Police Department, and Florence County Sheriff's Office also responded to the call.
